As a founding partner in Mind Your Head Australia and an experienced educator I bring my wealth of experience and strong ties to the community to every engagement.

As the proud mother of three young adults I am inspired to use this educative role to promote insight and positive change in adolescent's lives.

“The consequences of not addressing adolescent mental health conditions extend to adulthood, impairing both physical and mental health and limiting opportunities to lead fulfilling lives as adults.”
WHO 2020

Delivering MHFA courses to young people lets me demonstrate how simple it can be to start the conversation about mental health.  In turn, it allows every young person the best chance to lead an engaged and fulfilling life.

I co-founded Mind Your Head Australia in 2018 following years of a clumsy and often lonely navigation of the mental health system. These years also spent learning all I could to support those living in their complex and often chaotic world.

My greatest wish – learn practical skills to help and make a difference.

Accredited as a mental health peer support worker, I have seen the positive impact that prevention and early intervention has on individuals, and the damage and distress when neither of these are present.

It is my vision that every young Australian and their adult supports has access to Mental Health First Aid, so they can also learn these practical skills to help each other and make a difference.

Jo and Anne delivered a wonderful course. It was one of the best courses I have attended. Their insight into Mental Health was wonderful and it was delivered in a manner that was easy for us all to understand.

They were both very good and it helped having two for when they demonstrated activities and also wandered around the room and helped when the lead was presenting.”
